This year, I’m excited to be collaborating with Australia’s national theatre company, Bell Shakespeare, on a new work inspired by their production of Julius Caesar.

Throughout the rehearsal period, I’ve been observing the company in the room—sketching as they work—while developing a new painting in response to Peter Evans’ interpretation of William Shakespeare’s political tragedy.

This collaboration marks a first for Bell Shakespeare, opening up a visual dialogue between painting and performance, and inviting audiences to encounter the story from a fresh perspective.
