26th INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION (2024)

Certificate of Excellence:

I am honour to announce that 'Rockfall' (dry media on paper 38.5 x 47.5") was one of the 30 artworks awarded a Certificate of Excellence in the 26th annual Portrait Society of America's International Competition.

A massive congratulations to those artists who were selected as this year's top 20 finalists (selected out of a staggering 3000+ entrants!).

BOLD BRUSH AWARD (August 2023)

I am pleased to announce that ‘Icarus Fallen’ took out the top prize in August’s BOLD BRUSH wards. It is an honour.

MIMESIS 2023

My 2022 artwork 'Antigone' hang among 61 other artworks in the MIMESIS exhibition. MIMESIS was a curated exhibition of contemporary realist art at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. The show ran between April 21st to June 25th 2023.

Other participating artists included Nick Alm, Gottfried Helnwein, Jordi Diaz Alama Guillermo Lorca García-Huidobro, Vicki Sullivan, Francis Bell and Jeremy Mann.

I was fortunate enough to visit the show in May. It was wonderful to see my painting of Antigone displayed in such a fitting setting.

 

The museum staff captured the video below on my visit. The museum is beautifully situated in the Gothic quarter in Barcelona in a converted mansion.

 
 

There was also a lovely mezzo-soprano performance the evening I arrived. The performer looked a little like Antigone.

 
 

25th INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Exceptional Merit

I was awarded a Exceptional Merit at the Portrait Society of America’s 25th INTERNAITIONAL competition in May.

It was such a wonderful experience to participate in the competition and to meet and get to know some of the great painters of our time.

 

2023 FINALIST

25th Portrait Society of America

I am honoured that my 2022 oil painting, ‘Farewell the Trumpets’, has be made one of 20 finalist in the 25th Portrait Society of America’s INTERNATIONAL portrait and figure competition.

I will be traveling to Washington DC in May to join the proceedings.

Thank you to the jurors for selecting my work as a finalist out of the staggering 3000+ entrants.
